Framer Pricing

Framer Pricing

Key takeaways

  • Framer has a free plan and paid plans from $10 a month (Basic) and $30 a month (Pro) billed yearly, plus custom Enterprise pricing, as listed on its pricing page in October 2026. Month-to-month billing costs more.
  • To use your own domain you need a paid plan. The free plan publishes on a Framer domain.
  • Framer says it does not offer HTML export for self-hosting. CMS content can be exported, but the site stays on Framer.
  • Over ten years on Basic, the subscription adds up to $1,200, and you still have nothing you can move.
  • Framer is excellent for design-led sites and quick iteration. Whether it suits you depends on how long you expect the site to live.

Framer is one of the best tools for designing a website visually. Designers like it because it behaves like a design tool, and the sites it produces look and feel polished. This article is not about whether Framer is good. It is about what you pay for it, and what you have at the end.

Prices below are from Framer’s pricing page, accessed on October 6, 2026. Check the page for current figures before you decide.

What you pay

Framer lists four plans:

PlanPriceNotes
Free$0Framer domain, limited bandwidth and CMS
Basic$10 a month, billed yearlyCustom domain
Pro$30 a month, billed yearlyHigher limits, more collaboration
EnterpriseCustomFor larger teams

The free plan is generous for trying things out: it includes a Framer domain, 1 GB of bandwidth, up to 10 CMS collections with 1,000 items, and 500 AI credits. But a site on a Framer address is a test, not a business site. Framer’s help center says that to connect a custom domain you need to upgrade to a paid plan.

So for a real business website, the realistic starting price is Basic, at $10 a month billed yearly, or more if you pay month to month. If you need more bandwidth, more CMS capacity or more people editing, you move to Pro.

The cost over time

Monthly prices are small on purpose. Over the life of a website they add up. The table uses the yearly-billing rates, the cheapest way to pay.

YearsBasic ($10 a month)Pro ($30 a month)
1$120$360
3$360$1,080
5$600$1,800
10$1,200$3,600
Bar chart of Framer subscription costs billed yearly: Basic $120, $360, $600 and $1,200 and Pro $360, $1,080, $1,800 and $3,600 after 1, 3, 5 and 10 years

These figures assume prices stay where they are. Subscription prices can also go up; in July 2026, for example, Squarespace raised its plan prices, as PetaPixel reported.

Year six

Here is the question the pricing page does not answer. Imagine it is year six. Your site has worked well. You have written fifty articles and built pages that people find through search. Then something changes: the price goes up, a feature you rely on changes or you simply want your site somewhere else.

What can you take with you?

“But there’s an export”

Framer is clear about this. Its help center says Framer does not offer HTML export for self-hosting your site. You can export CMS content, such as your articles, as structured data using plugins, which preserves your words. But the site itself, its pages, layouts and design, cannot be taken to another host and run there.

Leaving Framer means rebuilding the site elsewhere and moving your content into it. That is not unusual among hosted builders. Wix says its sites must be hosted on Wix’s servers, and Webflow’s code export is limited to certain plans. But it means that for as long as the site lives, the subscription is the price of keeping it online.

Where Framer wins

Framer is a strong choice when:

  • You are a designer and want to work visually, with precise control over layout and animation.
  • The site is short-lived, such as a launch page, an event or a campaign, and you do not care about moving it later.
  • Speed of iteration matters more than ownership. Changing a design in Framer is fast.
  • You do not want to maintain anything. Framer handles hosting, security and updates.

For those cases, a monthly fee is a fair price for what you get.

Where it does not

Framer is a weaker fit when:

  • The site is meant to last years and accumulate content, such as a business site with a growing blog.
  • You want to be able to leave without rebuilding.
  • You want to hand the site to someone else, such as a developer, an agency or a buyer, in a standard format.

For those cases, the question is not the monthly price. It is that after years of paying, you still rent the site rather than own it. That is the argument we make in the website you’re renting.

The alternative, honestly

A WordPress site on your own hosting costs the hosting, from a few dollars a month at mainstream hosts, and a domain, roughly $10 to $20 a year. Over ten years that can be similar to Framer Basic, or less. It is not free, and it comes with a little maintenance: updates, backups and the occasional fix. See WordPress maintenance for what that involves.

What it gives you is the right to leave. The files and database are yours, in a standard format, and any host can run them.

Where NoTiesBuilder fits

NoTiesBuilder is our product, so read this with that in mind. It is launching soon and will build a WordPress site from your brief and deploy it to your own hosting for one payment, with no monthly fee to us. You can join the waiting list.

Frequently asked questions

No. Framer’s help center says a custom domain requires a paid plan.
